Ed Morse Muscatine Ford/CDJR is currently seeking a Parts Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize profitability by managing parts inventory effectively, using sound purchasing practices, pricing strategies, and turnover analysis

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by forecasting demand, monitoring stock turnover, and coordinating timely ordering to prevent shortages or overstock

  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate parts department staff to ensure high performance, accountability, and excellent customer service

  • Ensure the department is well-organized, clean, and operating efficiently on a day-to-day basis, implementing processes that improve workflow and customer experience

  • Develop and oversee the department’s annual operating budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded through careful planning and cost control

  • Work closely with the Service, Collision, and Sales departments as well as wholesale accounts to ensure timely and accurate parts availability

  • Establish competitive pricing structures that align with market trends, drive profitability, and maintain customer satisfaction

  • Ensure factory return programs are maximized by accurately coding and processing returns to claim eligible refunds and minimize losses

  • Regularly analyze parts sales, inventory reports, and financial statements to assess performance and adjust strategies as needed

  • Uphold dealership policies and ensure all operations follow industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and ethical business practices

  • Maintain a customer-first mindset, ensuring all interactions—internal or external—reflect professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of management experience in an automotive parts department.
  • Ability to lead with a hands-on management style
  • Detail oriented and process driven
  • Work well under stress and handle potential difficult situations with customers and associates
  • Strong management background with other successful management jobs
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to understand profit and loss statements, are requirements for success
  • Experience at dealerships is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must successfully pass background and drug screen.
