Ed Morse Automotive Group is currently seeking a Accounting Support Manager to join our team in Delray Beach, FL. 

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between Corporate Accounting and the dealership accounting teams.
  • Oversee the coordination and preparation of the year-end financial statement review.
  • Track and monitor the dealership monthend close process to ensure critical functions are maintained on a monthly basis.
  • Assist, as needed, in the preparation of dealership reconciliations and workpapers.
  • Review and train, as needed, dealership controllers and Office Managers on dealership workpapers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Spearhead special projects and analytics as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with controllers and office managers on establishing and maintaining accounting processes.
  • Assess current accounting practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in developing dealership accounting training manuals.
  • Assist controllers and office managers during manufacturer, lender, and government audits.
  • Experience with coordinating company audits with outside auditors
  • Ensure the timely filing of required documents.
  • Ensure dealership compliance with federal regulations and industry standards.
  • Mentor staff accountants on various processes and procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience in accounting required.
  • Experience with financial analytics.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems (CDK preferred).
  • High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for acquisitions and training purposes.
